Taste this amazing Cava Dryos Red Wine 750ml from Domaine Hatzimichalis. This is a PGI wine, made by a blend of 3 varieties, international and local: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Xinomavro. Grown in selected sub-mountainous vineyards of Domaine Hatzimichalis, in the area of Ai-Giorgis (Saint George), on the outskirts of mount Knimis, at an altitude of 350 meters (1,150 feet) above sea level. No irrigation systems are used at this vineyard in order to increase concentration and flavour.
To be classified as “Cava” for a red wine, it has to be aged at least 3 years of which 12 months in oak and 12 in the bottle. Cava Dryos Red Wine 750ml is aged for 18 months in French oak barriques, followed by another 18 months in the bottle, in our underground cellars, under controlled temperature. Vintage 2016.
Nose
Unique pronounced aromas of black and red fruits, mostly berries, plums and dried fruits . Spices are also evident such as cloves, cinnamon, as well as hints of leather.
Palate
On the palate we also sense hints of coffee and raisins. Full body, soft tannins, intense flavour but also balanced and long aftertaste. All contribute to a special wine.
Best served at 15- 18ºC
