Cavino
Cavino was established in 1958 in Aigio by founders Konstantinos Anastasiou and Ioannis Douskas. Initially started as a winery, Cavino quickly expanded its operations to include a distillery.
The city of Aigio, where this vision of a modern winery and distillery took root, is set in a picturesque landscape of vineyards. The region’s unique microclimate is shaped by the interplay of Aigialia’s rolling slopes, mountains, and proximity to the sea.
Cavino specializes in cultivating indigenous Greek grape varieties such as Roditis, Lagorthi, Sideritis, Agiorgitiko, Mavro Kalavrytino, and the renowned Mavrodaphne. Alongside these, it also successfully grows international varieties including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Currently, Cavino exports over 75% of its wine and ouzo production. The company has embraced technological advancements, and in the past decade, it has significantly upgraded its production equipment and bottling lines, and expanded its air-conditioned storage facilities.
